Memorandum

To go in the morning to Major Burwells & tell him that I am ordered to read
to him this nights message, & expect a present answer whether they will
agree to what his Excellcy proposes. if not, tell him that I am ordered to
read another paper to him, and so leave both; telling him that his Excellcy
has used all fair means possible, that he is now brought to this last extremity
which he cannot possibly avoid doing to clear his honour and reputation
which has so much Sufferred on that young Lady's Accott: And if any of
them are any way disturb'd or uneasie at it, they may thank themselves
for not using his Excellency as a Gentleman, nor a Christian.
